Photo Retouch
The image adjustments Curves and Selecting Color are the two main effects I use in Photoshop to retouch my images. I am not actually going to go through step by step what I did, mainly because it is very self-explanatory and the numbers are hard to describe, especially when using the Curves tool. I will just briefly walk through and show you the results after each effect. Here is a preview:
Use the following image to work with through this tutorial. We first do Image --> Adjustments --> Curves and change the colors around to a desired result (make sure that you click on the drop-down box for other colors Red, Green, Blue). [Result] Then do Image --> Adjustments --> Selective Color, again remembering to go through other colors under the drop-down box. I did Red at -100, +100, -40, and +35 going down the bars, Yellow at -100% Black, White at +100% Black and Neutral at +20% Black. [Result]
Next, I selected the area on the top of the image that is supposed to be the road in the background and Layer Via Copy. On this selected layer, I did another selective coloring adjustment with Red at +100, -100, -40, and +100. [Result] I flattened the image and performed another Curves effect. [Result] And finally, I did a selective coloring for Green at -100, +100, -100, and 0.
